The three-part finale of X-Men ’97 begins with “Tolerance Is Extinction, Part 1,” and the world of Marvel animation will never be the same. Specifically because — spoilers beyond this point — it’s all connected, thanks to cameos in the X-Men ’97 Episode 8 voice cast from characters like Doctor Doom, Baron Zemo, and many more.
In the episode, Bastion (Theo James) enacts his plan to activate regular citizens as Prime Sentinels, unstoppable machines who, it turns out… Don’t want to kill mutants. Instead, as explained by Cable (Chris Potter), Bastion fights a war for 300 years and ultimately creates a Utopia where humans are at peace and mutants are put to work.
Still, there’s some mutant killing first as the Summers family finds out Bastion’s origin story — he’s some Master Mold code that traveled through time and infected a human man — and then race around in various vehicles. Jubilee (Holly Chau) and Roberto (Gui Agustini) battle some Prime Sentinels as well in a shopping mall, with Roberto eventually having his full powers revealed in front of his mom. And the X-Mansion is burned to the ground, with Rogue taking a nice nap while Wolverine (Cal Dodd) and Nightcrawler (Adrian Hough) try to protect her.
…and at the very end of the episode, Magneto (Matthew Waterson) is freed by Val Cooper (Catherine Disher) to take down every Prime Sentinel on Earth. Which is just when Professor Xavier (Ross Marquand) returns to Earth.

X-Men ’97 Season 1, Episode 8 “Tolerance Is Extinction, Part 1” Cast: Who’s Who In The Cast?
A number of our regular folks take double-duty this episode. Jennifer Hale voices both Jean Grey and a Prime Sentinel. Holly Chau voices Jubilee, and Chinese OZT Member. And in a diametric opposite voice role, J.P. Karliak voices both Morph and Reverend Stryker, a mutant racist from the comics who probably means even more bad things coming forward.
Curiously, a few voice actors reprise their roles, though I don’t recall seeing/hearing them in the episode, so it may have been part of some flashback sequences: Travis Willingham as Sebastian Shaw, and Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop.
The big ones you probably want to know about are the cameos. Rama Vallury does the voice of Baron Zemo, and you probably know him best as Ali Abdul from Squid Game. Meanwhile, the character who is credited as “Latverian OZT Member” but is clearly Doctor Doom is voiced by Ross Marquand.
Kari Wahlgren, who folks probably know from her voice work on Rick & Morty, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda and much more, does the voice of Rose — who I believe is Bastion’s mother in the episode.
Also, Spider-Man shows up in the episode, but he doesn’t say anything so we’ll just assume he’s voiced by, I don’t know, Martin Short.

X-Men ’97 Season 1 Premiere Dates And Episode Guide:
X-Men ’97 doesn’t have a one-a-day schedule like What If…? Season 2, or all-at-once like Echo. Instead, the series is getting a more traditional release schedule of two on premiere day, then one a week thereafter.
The release time is also typical. Versus what has now become a run-of-the-mill primetime “early” release for big movies and TV shows, new episodes of X-Men ’97 will be released on Wednesdays at 3 am ET / Midnight PT.
