The Boys panel at San Diego Comic-Con had no shortage of surprises. A prequel series titled Vought Rising starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash? Who would have predicted that? But in between all the announcements and teases, we still got an update about the Gen V Season 2 premiere date – and news about a crossover guest star.
As floated earlier this month by Amazon, Gen V Season 2 will indeed premiere in 2025. We’ve speculated that it will get a June premiere date, to put it one year after The Boys Season 4 – and potentially a year before the premiere of The Boys Season 5. But that’s an educated guess, and not based on any news from Prime Video. As of now, Gen V Season 2, which has been in production since May, will premiere sometime between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. That narrows it down!
More specific news is that Chace Crawford will be guest-starring as The Deep in Season 2. After a season of The Boys that saw the Aquaman riff go even darker and more deadly than usual, it should be interesting to see what his role is, as the kids of Gen V enter sophomore year at Godolkin University. Perhaps he’s teaching swimming?
Speaking of which, in a brief bit of footage shown, it does indeed seem all the cast is back at Godolkin in Season 2. At the end of Season 1, Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Emma (Lizze Broadway), Jordan (London Thor and Derek Luh), and Andre (Chance Perdomo) were all locked in a windowless prison after being blamed for a Supe riot at the school. In the footage, they’re all back on campus, brought there in a prison van, and welcomed by Cate (Maddie Phillips).
Why? How? We’ll find out when the show hits Prime Video in 2025.
