Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Teaming Up With Naruto For New Comic Series:
You know it’s Comic-Con week when big media properties start mashing together. And now, Naruto is crossing over with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a new comic book series.
Via ICv2, the four-issue mini also teams up publishers Viz Media and IDW for a story where the Turtles head to Hidden Leaf Village to help their friend April O’Neil. And then the Foot Clan attack, leading to Naruto and friends helping out the Turtles.
This is far from the only team-up the Turtles have had recently, including a crossover with Stranger Things, and one with Masters of the Universe coming in September. The book is written by Caleb Goellner with art by Hendry Prasetya, and the first issue hits on November 13.
New Terminator And James Bond Books Coming From Dynamite:
Continuing our round-up of pre-San Diego news, Dynamite has announced two new books based on major media properties: Terminator, and a brand new James Bond story.
The first comes from writer Declan Shalvey and artist Luke Sparrow, following up on the events of the original film in time for the 40th anniversary. In the new Terminator comic, robots are traveling back in time all over the world to wipe out key resistance fighters — and their ancestors — after failing to destroy John Conner. The book will hit in October on a TBA date.
As for the James Bond story, there’s even more TBA on that one. But it will be written by the very busy Gail Simone, and has the tentative title “Iridescent.” Simone previously worked with Dynamite on a well-regarded run on Red Sonja, among other titles. More will be announced about the book at Dynamite’s 20th Anniversary Panel, this Friday at Comic-Con.
Marvel Announces New Psylocke Series:
Here’s another title whose details are TBA. Marvel has announced a new Psylocke series is launching this November. They add the tagline “She was made for violence,” and tease that more details will be revealed this Saturday at the publisher’s X-Men From The Ashes panel.
…and that’s pretty much it! As a reminder for anyone who has been away for awhile, Psylocke is officially Kwannon, the ninja warrior whose body was inhabited for a long time by Betsy Braddock, who is now a second person and Captain Britain.
Whether this book will deal with that or not? I don’t know. I do know she’s made for violence, though, so as the kids definitely don’t say anymore: cool beans.
