X-Men ’97 Cast: Who’s Who In Season 1, Episode 5, From Nightcrawler To Cable?

X-Men 97 Episode 5 voice cast Nightcrawler Rogue Gambit

X-Men ’97 went apocalyptic in this week’s episode, Episode 5 “Remember It.” Spoilers beyond this point, but RIP basically everyone? Let’s break down the X-Men ’97 voice cast for Episode 5 because this is maybe the last time you’re hearing them.

In the episode, Rogue (Lenore Zann), Gambit (AJ LoCascio), and Magneto (Matthew Waterson) travel to Genosha to oversee the mutant nation’s induction into the United Nations. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is back at the mansion where ace reporter Trish Tilby is covering today’s top story: X-Men sad.

Specifically, Cyclops (Ray Chase) is not just frustrated his wife Jean (Jennifer Hale) was replaced by a clone, he’s actively psychically cheating on her with Madelyne Pryor (also Hale). Whoops! But maybe it’s okay because Jean and Wolverine (Cal Dodd) kiss, too.

Back in Genosha, Magneto is crowned king of Genosha, and decides to take Rogue as his queen, breaking Gambit’s heart. They dance, they kiss, Rogue turns him down. Classic stuff!

All this doesn’t really matter, though, because Cable (Chris Potter) shows up just in time to confirm he’s the grown-up Nathan Christopher Charles Summers… Only for a Mastermold to attack Genosha, killing pretty much everyone. That includes Morlock leader Callisto, Sebastian Shaw (Todd Haberkorn), and even Magneto and Gambit. Also hundreds of others. Yikes!

That’s the recap; let’s jump into the voice cast. We’ve already covered the majority of the cast changes in our breakdown of the X-Men ’97 Episode 1 and 2 voice cast, X-Men ’97 Episode 3 voice cast, and X-Men ’97 Episode 4 voice cast. But there are dozens of new mutants in Genosha, so let’s break it down further.

X-Men ’97 Season 1, Episode 5 “Remember It” Cast: Who’s Who In The Cast?

Cable X-Men 97

The first big newcomer in this episode we should probably talk about is Nightcrawler. Adrian Hough, who voiced the character in X-Men: The Animated Series is back to play the bouncing blue furball, after previously showing up in three episodes of the earlier series.

Let’s switch from broadcast to Cable, and talk about the new voice actor there. In the original series, Big Nate was voiced by Lawrence Bayne, who also voiced Fabian Cortez, Erik the Red, Corsair, and Captain America. In X-Men ’97 he voiced X-Cutioner in the first few episodes. The role of Cable is now voiced by Chris Potter who, get this, used to voice Gambit on X-Men: TAS. Round robin!

Todd Haberkorn, an actor known mostly for anime, does the voice of Sebastian Shaw. Another voice vet, Martha Marion, takes on the roles of Emma Frost and Moira MacTaggert. Meanwhile, David Errigo Jr., who was the voice of Mojo last week, is now both Banshee and Leech. The former voice was previously done by Jeremy Ratchford, the latter by John Stocker on X-Men: TAS.

Finally, Rachel Kimsey, probably best known as Wonder Woman from Justice League: Action, is the voice of “Computer Cube,” every actor’s dream role.

    1. Todd Haberkorn is in the credits for Sebastian Shaw… Willingham did some voices for the anime, but I don’t think he’s in this? Unless there’s a mistake.
