X-Men ’97 zeroes in on the core cast with “Tolerance Is Extinction, Part 2,” and versus the cameo-heavy previous episode, this one is relatively free of new cast or voices. But let’s put a spoiler warning here anyway.
In the episode, Magneto has EMP’d the entire Earth, and there are about 12 hours until the entire planet dies. But if the X-Men take out Magneto, Bastion will just restart his Prime Sentinels. What to do?
Well, the X-Men split into two teams, Blue and Gold, straight out of the Chris Claremont/Jim Lee era from the comics. And in fact — we’ll get there — we get some huge moments from the Fatal Attractions crossover that’s one of the highlights of that particular time in comics (though that particular crossover was written by Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell).
But first, Magneto confronts Professor Xavier by parking a resurfaced Asteroid M in his backyard, leading to Rogue and Roberto joining Magneto’s team.
The rest of the episode is pretty much a non-stop conflict as one team goes after Magneto, and the other goes after Bastion. The wrinkle on the latter is Mister Sinister decides to activate his overarching plan, taking over Cable to destroy Jean Grey. And because of that, Cyclops hesitates and stops Xavier from taking over Magneto’s mind completely. So Wolverine steps up to the plate, stabbing Magneto… Only for Magneto to rip his Adamantium skeleton out, aka the one thing everyone remembers from Fatal Attractions.

X-Men ’97 Season 1, Episode 9 “Tolerance Is Extinction, Part 2” Cast: Who’s Who In The Cast?
As mentioned above this episode is very much focused on the main cast of the series. But there are two interesting “additions.”
The only “cameo” in the episode is by Morph as Hulk, and indeed, the voice of Hulk is done by Morph voice actor J.P. Karliak, instead of Fred Tatasciore, who perenially voices the characters.
The other interesting wrinkle is that Theo James, who voices Bastion, also voices the Sentinels in this episode. Usually, those are voiced by Eric Bauza. However, with Bastion powering the Sentinels all on his own due to Magneto’s EMP, the switch of voice actors makes sense — these aren’t your regular Sentinels, it’s Bastion all the way down.

X-Men ’97 Season 1 Premiere Dates And Episode Guide:
X-Men ’97 doesn’t have a one-a-day schedule like What If…? Season 2, or all-at-once like Echo. Instead, the series is getting a more traditional release schedule of two on premiere day, then one a week thereafter.
The release time is also typical. Versus what has now become a run-of-the-mill primetime “early” release for big movies and TV shows, new episodes of X-Men ’97 will be released on Wednesdays at 3 am ET / Midnight PT.
