Todd McFarlane Launching 10 New Spawn Titles In 2024:

Spawn is spawning. More titles, that is, as 10 new books in Todd McFarlane’s line are coming in 2024.

As reported by Bleeding Cool, the Spawn Universe Sampler given out at New York Comic Con teased 10 new titles, in addition to the currently running Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched. Those titles include the following…

Sam and Twitch Case Files brings back the detectives on the fringes of Spawn’s universe, written by Todd McFarlane with art by rising superstar Syzmon Kudranski. Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger teams up Jimmy Palmiotti and Patric Reynolds for a story set in the Civil War. Also by McFarlane and Kudranski is Misery, about a Spawn relative who can make people feel her emotions. Medieval Spawn brings on a plague-doctor-esque version of the character.

Violater by Kyle Hotz focuses on Spawn’s greatest enemy, presumably in a Cheers to Frasier type scenario. Focus by McFarlane and Marco Failla, er, focuses on a speedster in the Spawn universe. Rat City by Erica Schultz and Ze Carlos brings on a cybernetic Spawn from the future. Spawn The Dark Ages is set 700 years ago and is by Liam Sharp, so you know it’s going to look rad. And No Home Here focuses on a child killer himself killed by Spawn who makes his victim relive her death.

Finally, there’s Spawn Kills Every Spawn, a humor book by John Layman and Rob Duenes. Given the amount of books coming, Spawn better get started ASAP.

Joe Kubert School Adds Advanced Study Program:

The Joe Kubert School has made a major expansion in its comics artist training program with the addition of an Advanced Study program. Kicking off in January of 2024, the program will add a fourth year to the already three-year program, allowing artists to grow beyond the introductory program already in place.

As reported by The Beat, the goal is to take the program — which introduces the basics of creating comic book art — and allows more seasoned artists to continue to train with professionals.

Said President of the Kubert School, and former Booth Man for Comic Book Club Anthony Marques: “For many young artists, landing the first job is an exciting achievement, but it’s securing the second one and the ones after which defines a successful career. We recognize this challenge and have tailored ‘The Joe Kubert School’s Advanced Studies’ to provide the mentorship and guidance needed to elevate participants’ work, ensuring it stands out in a competitive industry.”

The program will culminate in an art show for industry professionals, and be limited to 10 students. Interested participants can apply right now on the Kubert School website.
