After weeks — nay, months — of anticipation, the Deadpool 3 trailer is finally here. Thanks to the just-dropped Super Bowl commercial, we have our first look at official footage from the upcoming MCU movie. And Deadpool has brought his friend along with him in the new movie, which is officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine.
Deadpool 3 is highly anticipated for several reasons. First, you have the juggernaut that is Ryan Reynolds returning to the superhero role as the Merc with a Mouth after the first two Deadpool movies. Then, you’ve got the fact that versus the first two movies existing in the Fox/Marvel universe that only tangentially touched on the other X-Men movies, now Deadpool is heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Oh, and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is back.
Alongside Jackman, the movie also brings back Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and… Wait for it… Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
And there’s more! Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Colosuss, Shioli Kutsana as Yukio, and Rob Delaney as Peter are all back, as well. Joining those characters are actors Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in mystery roles (though based on the trailer, it’s clear Macfadyen is a TVA agent).
So will there be more characters? Will Loki be in Deadpool 3, for example? Maybe! Watch the teaser trailer! Stay tuned!
Directed by Shawn Levy, and written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Ryan Reynolds, and Shawn Levy, the movie has the extra bit of pressure that it’s the only MCU movie coming out in 2024, after Marvel Studios’ Very Bad 2023. And it’s reportedly Rated R. Can Deadpool save the Marvel Universe? Or will he kill it?
Deadpool 3 opens in theaters on July 25, 2024.
