Some terrible, shocking news for fans of FX’s Legion today. In a video from the show’s red carpet premiere, it was revealed that… Are you ready for this? Syd (Rachel Keller) doesn’t dance during Season 2.
We’ll give you a moment to let that sink in.
The show has already had two dance sequences in two episodes. There was a three-way dance battle in “Chapter 9,” and a song-fueled invasion of Division 3 via Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) and Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement) in “Chapter 10.” With eight episodes to go, there’s plenty of time for Syd to bust a move. Yet the show seems dead set on not letting David Haller (Dan Stevens) main squeeze cut a rug.
“I didn’t get to be in any this year,” Rachel Keller told FX, “and I was jealous. I love dancing.”
You hear that? She loves dancing. Does she love being a cat? Maybe, because she’s also been a cat for multiple episodes this season. (Syd’s power is to trade consciousness with any other being she touches). But we don’t know about that, because they didn’t ask her if she loves being a cat.
We do know that Keller loves dancing, and if there was any justice in the world Lenny and Oliver would step aside and let her take the lead.
Anyway, there’s a bunch more info about Season 2 (and a nice catch-up if you’re behind) in the video. But really, this is all I care about. #Justice4Keller #LetKellerDance #LegionLetSydDance
Here’s the official description of the show from FX:
Legion follows the story of “David Haller,” a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of “Amahl Farouk” from attaining infinite and world-ending power.
