There were many, many stand-out moments in Legion‘s Season 2 premiere. But by far, the sequence that got us going was the three-way dance battle between David (Dan Stevens), Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) and Oliver (Jemaine Clement).
Trying to get the bottom of what David knows about his missing time between Season 1 and 2, Boy Cary (Bill Irwin) submerges him in an isolation tank, which plunges David deep into the recesses of his mind. There he travels to a club where he meets up with Lenny and Oliver — two aspects of the villainous Shadow King Amahl Farouk — and engages in a dance battle
Really.
The scene stands out not just for being, you know, a sweet-ass dance battle; but also because it’s motivated by character, plot, and actually moves the whole thing forward.
