War is coming to Riverdale, in the form of the upcoming mayoral election between Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) and Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols). And with only a few episodes left in the show’s second season, that war is about to explode.
“There’s a lot of friction between the Andrews and the Lodges,” Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie, told The CW on a recent PaleyFest red carpet.”
Nichols added, “Could there be a harder opponent for Hermione?”
Well no, not really. Though the show has swerved away from the Fred/Hermione romance this season, those feelings are still simmering below the surface (despite Hermione’s turn into full on Lodge evil), and I fully expect we’ll be seeing things get very bad as the race continues.
“You know what, when the truth is on your side,” Perry quipped. “Doesn’t matter how much money you have.”
Not in Riverdale, Luke. Not in Riverdale.
Riverdale returns to The CW on Wednesday, April 18 at 8/7c with a special musical episode featuring “Carrie: The Musical.” Really!
