Peacemaker Season 2 Begins Production, James Gunn Reflects

Peacemaker Season 2 Begins Production

Last month, we reported that Peacemaker Season 2 would begin production in June, according to Production Weekly. Well: oops. As shared by James Gunn on Instagram, the season began filming yesterday (April 13).

…Or at least something is being shot for Peacemaker Season 2. While Gunn labeled the post “Day 1 S2,” he later clarified on Threads when asked how he was filming Superman and Peacemaker simultaneously, that, “It’s a Saturday. Pre-shoot.” Gunn later added, “I’ll be directing some of the episodes (I’m directing today). But there are three other great directors joining me for the season.”

That lines up with what we had heard before, as Gunn is, indeed, busy filming DC Studios’ flagship movie. As for what he was filming yesterday, a “pre-shoot” can mean a lot of things. Given we see John Cena’s Peacemaker helmet as Gunn reflects back in it, it’s possible they could be filming scenes while everyone is available (all the scripts for Season 2 have already been written). Or he could merely be doing camera checks and/or blocking scenes out for later days when he’s more available post-Superman.

Or, in our dream of dreams, Gunn is spending the weekend shooting a new opening credits sequence for Peacemaker Season 2, so that’s nice and set before they officially head into production later this year. And yes, I do really wanna, really wanna taste it. Whatever Peacemaker Season 2 has in store? Bring it on.
