It’s a surprisingly light week for comics. Yes, plenty of new books are hitting the stands on January 23 and January 24. But at the same time, the dour forecast from comic book pundits for January seems to have been right on the money. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t new comics this week we’re hyped for, honey. You like that rhyme? I can do it all the time.
Marvel continues the end of the Krakoa era by bringing back the master of magnetism in The Resurrection of Magneto #1. Meanwhile, I’m personally most hyped for the reunion of the OG creative team on Power Pack: Into The Storm #1.
Over at DC Comics, Titans: Beast World #5 promises to finally reveal the identity of Doctor Hate, as well as where he got his doctorate. And The Penguin #6 brings on Stevan Subic for a look back at the origin of Batman and The Penguin’s relationship.
Dynamite Entertainment has the kick-off of Justice Ducks #1, a sort of Justice League for Disney’s duck characters, written by Roger Langridge so you know it’s gonna be good. IDW heads to the beginning of the end of the current iteration of TMNT in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #147. And the big one from Image Comics is Ghost Machine #1, which kicks off the heavily hyped creator co-ops’ four shared universes.
