Riverdale 2x22 Promo For "Chapter Thirty-Five: Brave New World" Teases More Deaths To Come

The promo for Riverdale episode 2×22 “Chapter Thirty-Five: Brave New World” is here, and you’re going to have to be brave to get through it. Mainly because the Powers That Be are playing hard with that “is Jughead really dead?” plotline… And even more deaths to come.

Let’s break it down, shall we?

Who’s in the grave?

They’re certainly strongly implying here that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is dead, and Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Archie (KJ Apa) have come to mourn him.

But more likely, Juggie is recuperating in the hospital while the three visit another grave — and given the amount of folks who die regularly on Riverdale, it could be anyone. My money is on Mr. Svenson, though, because they all feel bad.

Is Hiram triumphant?

Now, I’m not 100% sure about this, but it certainly looks like Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) is calling a big mob-boss meeting in the White Wyrm. That’s definitely a Ghoulie on the left, and in the middle looks like one of those Canadian gangs we’ve been hearing so much about. Could the person on the right be Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), though? A scene later in the promo makes this a big “maybe.”

And if he has brought everyone together, is he consolidating all the gangs in Riverdale under his control?

Cheryl Blossom: Serpent

Yaas, you get that Serpent jacket, Cheryl. And of course, Cheryl joining her girlfriend Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) in the Southside Serpents would come complete with a red jacket, because she’s Cheryl.

Hal-ibal Lecture

Speaking of “of course,” naturally Riverdale would throw Hal Cooper in a Hannibal Lecter style prison, and have him face off against his own personal Clarice in Betty. Because this show is subtle.

Dem Bones

Even after everything that’s happened, Archie is still planning on “making his bones” for Hiram. Given the knife, does that mean killing Hal Cooper? Or the second Black Hood? Or someone else? And what will it mean for Archie if he actually commits murder?
