Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is back. And we don’t just mean the character is returning, we mean that after years of breaking good, the former The Walking Dead villain is back with barbed-wire bat in hand, leather jacket on, in the San Diego Comic-Con teaser for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2.
In the one-minute glimpse, we get to see Negan holding court in the wreckage of New York City, we see zombies being thrown underwater, a fight club… And we find out Maggie’s (Lauren Cohan) new mission: save Negan.
In addition to the new teaser for the series, AMC also revealed four new cast members. Per a press release, they are:
- Keir Gilchrist (Atypical, It Follows), in the role of “Benjamin Pierce”
- Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black, Poker Face), in the role of “Major Lucia Narvaez”
- Jake Weary (Oh, Canada, How to Blow Up a Pipeline), in the role of “Christos”
- Pooya Mohseni (Law & Order: SVU, See You Then), in the role of “Roksana”
While there’s no premiere date for Season 2 yet, it will debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2025. Here’s the synopsis for the series, some new photos, and you can watch the new teaser, below.
The Walking Dead: Dead City follows fan-favorite characters Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.
