When Superman fans hear the name “Zod,” chills go down their spines. One of his greatest enemies — if not the greatest — Zod will make you kneel with terror. But not on SYFY’s Krypton, where the House of Zod is turning out to be one of the most sympathetic aspects of the show.
On the next episode, appropriately titled “The House of Zod,” the focus turns to Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and her mother Jayna-Zod (Ann Ogbomo). While both have sworn to do their duty as members of Kandor’s military guild, they’ve also both been challenged dramatically over the past few episodes.
For Jayna, it’s her love of her daughter. For Lyta, it’s her love of Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe). And with Seg missing, tracked through the snowy wastelands outside Kandor by
Colin Salmon’s Black Zero operative, Lyta’s distraction might lead to Jayna’s downfall.

Here’s the official description of the series from SYFY:
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
