Even if SyFy’s Krypton takes place under a red sun, so there are no Superman-style superpowers, there’s still some intense action on the show.
In fact, the fight scene in Episode 2 (titled “The House Of El“) between Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and the soon-to-be-former general of the Kandor military guild was one of the best scenes on the show so far. Sure, Kal-El’s grandpa Seg (Cameron Cuffe) might be the ostensible star of the show, but Lyta is the real standout.
In SyFy’s new short behind the scenes look, we find out that Campbell was using a fighting technique expressly designed to help folks who might not be as physically strong gain the advantage. Spoilers on, but yeah, she took that advantage.
Here’s the official description from SyFy:
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
