Nicola Scott is an iconic artist best known for her DC Comics work in books like Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman. But now she’s taking on the whole DC Universe in a series of variant covers, as part of DC’s Artist Spotlight series.
Each of the covers has a “Class Photo” look, where you can see multiple iterations of heroes including Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman in multiple costumes and looks from throughout the decades. And in fact, several of these covers have already been published. The Superman one appeared on Action Comics #1000, Batman on Detective Comics #1000, and Wonder Woman, appropriately, on Wonder Woman #750. These covers will be reprinted exclusively for Kings Comics in Scott’s native Australia, a store that received the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.
Other previously released covers include a Green Lantern one on Green Lantern 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular #1. And while it’s never been officially published, Scott’s “cheeky” Nightwing cover was posted online and was definitely not the butt of jokes. Buttcheeks. You get it.
Beyond the previously published (or shared) covers, there will also be seven entirely new covers featuring Aquaman, Black Canary, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Supergirl, The Flash, and Zatanna.
Check out all the covers below, and click for larger versions. And of course you can pick themselves up for yourself in August and September.
