Dynamite is getting prepped to release the first trade paperback collection of their hit series ThunderCats. And in a twist that’s sure to make shop owners cheer, it’ll hit comic book stores only this July.
The Direct Market Special edition will collect issues #1-#5 of the series, which includes the first four issues by writer Declan Shalvey and artist Drew Moss, as well as the fifth issue — a Cheetara spotlight story — by Shalvey and guest artist Stephen Mooney. The trade will hit stores on July 17, the same day ThunderCats #6 hits stores, with Moss returning to the series.
This collection, Dynamite notes, will be limited to a single printing. Subsequent editions of the trades for the series will be available in both paperback and hardcover, hit comic stores and bookstores, and will “feature different covers,” per a release provided to Comic Book Club.
Also hitting in July is ThunderCats: Cheetara #1 by Soo Lee. And so far, the burgeoning franchise has been a huge hit for Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, with the first issue selling north of 180,000 copies. Check out the full cover to the collection, below:
