‘Kraven The Hunter’ Is Now A Christmas Movie

Earlier this year, we went to bat for why Madam Web is a Christmas movie. And now, so is Kraven the Hunter, as the Sony Spider-Man Universe Of Related Films That Don’t Include Spider-Man Motion Pictures (SSMUoRFTDISMMP) movie will be released on December 13, 2024.

The new release date is the latest change for the Aaron-Taylor Johnson starring movie, which was initially supposed to hit theaters on January 13, 2023, after filming in 2022. It was then moved to October 23, 2023, but shifted again due to the SAG-AFTRA strike to August 30, 2024. And now it’s scheduled to be released this December, nearly two years after the initially scheduled release date. This is great news because movies, like wine, only get better with age.

The ostensible reason for the move, per THR, is that The Karate Kid, a movie mashing together the multiple timelines of that franchise, won’t be ready for the December 13, 2024 release date — and to give the Ralph Macchio-starring Cobra Kai time to finish up, as well. With a holiday release date open, Sony gave fans what they’re cravin’ and moved the supervillain flick into the spot.

Kraven will now follow Venom: The Last Dance, which is scheduled to be released on October 25, 2024. And then that’ll be it for the Sony Spider-Man spinoffs, right? Right???
