Let’s talk about Marvel, first! While there are no new number ones, we do still have a lot to look forward to. Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X-Men continues, introducing Maystorm, a protege of Storm. In the mainstream continuity, Resurrection of Magneto wraps up this week. And Aliens: What If…? continues its Paul Reiser fan-fiction.
The big news over at DC Comics is the kick-off of the “House of Brainiac” storyline in Action Comics, and it spills over into the backup story in Green Lantern. Looking forward to the next event, Suicide Squad: Dream Team continues the march to the “Absolute Power” event. And in Outsiders #6, they go inside of a comic book. I mean, they’re already there, but you get what I mean.
From other publishers, Uncanny Valley #1 at BOOM! Studios is a wild mash-up of reality and cartoons from Tony Fleecs and Dave Wachter. Dynamite continues to expand the Disney line with Hercules #1. Image Comics expands the Spawn Universe with Rat City #1, set in the future. And Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees #5 has one of the most disturbing covers I’ve ever seen.
