SHAZAM! #10 Review:

In this new issue, Billy Batson and family are moving into the new house created for them by Zeus. Only as they discover, the Greek gods have added some rooms of their own, leading to an invasion of creatures from another dimension.

“This is everything that I wanted out of this [book] when I heard Josie Campbell and Emanuela Lupacchino we’re taking over the title,” said host Alex Zalben. “The art is phenomenal. The partnership between Billy and Mary Marvel is great. Her being the straight man to his crazy man in the situation… A wonderful dynamic going on here. The creativity as well, using the stress of moving into a new house… And using that to create a supernatural threat for the whole family, I thought was phenomenal. Man, I am jazzed about this book going forward. Jazz-amed.”

Pete LePage gave a shout out to the cover in particular, noting that having a T-Rex with a top hat and monocle looking at a cross-section of the house, “that’s just in my wheelhouse. All of that is glorious.”

More to the point of the issue though, LePage though it was “fun,” and loved the back and forth between Zeus, as well as the villainous purple snake-dragons. Plus, “fun twist at the end… It feels like we’ve got new life in this book.”
