We reviewed the book on the Stack podcast. But in the interest of highlighting more about the title, here’s a summary of the conversation with our thoughts. And if you prefer the longer audio version, that’s below as well!

X-Force #47 Review:

X-Force is back in the saddle and Wolverine is in the lead as they try to rebuild after the events of the Hellfire Gala. And it’s all leading up to the return — somehow — of the original Beast.

While Pete LePage was confused why the story of Beast and Wolverine moved from the Wolverine title to X-Force, Justin Tyler thought the plotting made sense.

“This remains the weirdest and wildest of the X books,” said Tyler. “You got Domino with a wood hand. Everybody flying around in different ways. That part is really fun. And we forget that Beast… He’s an original X-Man. The redemption of Beast is a story that they have to give a little time and space to. I think that’s why it’s moved over here, to X-Force.”

And Alex Zalben noted that he liked “this issue a lot more than the past couple of issues of X-Force mostly because Wolverine really works as an organizing factor for this team.”

Tyler joked it was because Wolverine is “sharp” to which Zalben added, “having him very specifically step up and be like, ‘come out I’m gonna give you some direction’ rather than it just being this conglomeration of characters who are like, ‘we don’t know what’s going on, what’s happening here?’ So I think that’s a really smart move, and I’m excited to see how they wrap this up. I think it’s going to be dark and bloody and interesting.”
