It’s the last new comics week of the year! Spend time fondly looking back at how many hours you wasted spent reading comics, combing through pages, and reading this list of comics coming out. Oh hey! There’s still new comics coming out, so let’s get into it.
From Marvel, we’ve got one of those “look forward” issues with Timeless 2023 #1, which pits a future Luke Cage against a future Moon Knight, and will preview stories coming in 2024. Meanwhile, Star Wars: Dark Droids reaches a crescendo with issue #5. And there’s a new issue of Avengers Inc., which just makes me mad that none of you read this fun detective series and now it’s canceled with issue #5.
DC Comics highlights include the end of Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s long run on Action Comics with the 2023 Annual. There’s a new issue of Sandman Universe: Nightmare Country – The Glass House, and it feels like forever since we got the last one. And the delightful four-week event finishes up in Batman/Santa Claus: Silent Knight #4.
Over at BOOM! Studios, we’re getting yet another Something is Killing the Children spinoff with Book of Butcher #1. Dark Horse Comics has one, singular issue coming out, so thankfully it’s the absolutely goofy Giant Robot Hellboy #3. And Image Comics expands the Energon Universe with Duke #1, which introduces G.I. Joe to the world.
