Still full from Thanksgiving? Or is there room to stuff some new comics in that gullet of yours? If so, good news, because… Well, actually there aren’t a ton of comics coming out. But there are some good ones!
First up from Marvel Comics, we’ve got the kick-off of the next big Spider-Man event in The Amazing Spider-Man: Gang War – First Strike #1. That self-explanatory title will continue in Luke Cage: Gang War #1 (which is a miniseries) and Spider-Woman #1 (which is an ongoing series). Meanwhile, there’s a new Howard the Duck #1, and X-Men Blue: Origins #1 looks to be an essential part of the ongoing Uncanny Spider-Man series.
Over at DC Comics, their big event kicks off in Titans: Beast World #1, which finds the DC Universe beasting up their lives as everyone turns into beasts. Sam Hamm and Joe Quinones continue the in-continuity (?) story of the Burton/Keaton Batman movies in Batman ’89: Echoes #1. And City Boy #6 finishes up Greg Pak and Minkyu Jung’s run on the character who talks to cities.
BOOM! Studios rolls out another done-in-one issue take on Keanu Reeves’ killer barbarian with BRZRKR: Fallen Empire #1. And Image Comics releases Maria Llovet’s Crave #1, which our advance review called, “a fantastic premise that feels… almost close to reality.”
