Marvel First Look: Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X-Men

Ultimate X-Men First Look Peach Momoko

As first seen in today’s issue of Ultimate Universe #1, Marvel fans got a glimpse of a new, two-page story by writer/artist Peach Momoko, teeing up her new series Ultimate X-Men. And now Marvel has released that story in full. And not only that: looks at her designs for X-Men characters Armor and Maystorm.

Armor is probably well known by X-Men fans. But Maystorm is a new character, first introduced on a variant cover for X-Men #27. Said Momoko via press release: “I was very surprised, excited and happy that Marvel allowed me to introduce Maystorm in Ultimate X-Men. She was made only for the New Champions variant cover program. I really liked her design and wanted to tell her story… but didn’t think I would get the opportunity this fast!”

Though we don’t know a ton about the new character, we do know she’s a protege of X-Men mainstay Storm. We also know that while things are brewing over in America and Wakanda in Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Black Panther, respectively, Ultimate X-Men will show us this new take on the universe, set in Japan.

Check out the two-page story from Ultimate Universe #1, and some designs of Armor and Maystorm before the March 6, 2024 on-sale date.
