New Raina Telgemeier Book Coming:

A new Raina Telgemeier book is coming to stores! Though, not until 2025. So calm down.

As reported by PopVerse, Telgemeier teased the new graphic novel on Facebook and Instagram. “My next graphic novel is fully penciled!!” Telgemeier wrote. “Nine months of work to draw 262 pages.”

The creator goes on to detail that this book is the first time she won’t be doing her own inks. And though the Scholastic Graphix book is still a secret, she also teases that it will be out in January of 2025.

Telgemeier is quite possibly the most successful comic book creator working today. Not only are her three books Guts, Drama, and Smile critically acclaimed, but they’re also perennial bestsellers. Similar to the previous three, this book is expected to be a YA graphic novel. And we’ll go out on a limb and say that it’ll also be a bestseller come 2025.

Until then, it’s a pile of uninked pages on Telgemeier’s shelf. Hey, maybe it’s called Pile!

Blue Book Returning To Dark Horse:

Blue Book… Two? James Tynion IV and Michael Avon Oeming’s hit non-fiction comic Blue Book is returning to Dark Horse, with a new series titled Blue Book: 1947. Telling weird, “true” tales of alien abduction, this next series will take place years before the first and focuses on an airplane pilot.

Here’s the synopsis of the new volume, via Dark Horse. “In 1947, Kenneth Arnold flew his Call-Air A-2 over the skies of the Pacific Northwest when all of a sudden, he saw a blinding flash of silver light. What followed was a bizarre and difficult to explain encounter with several flying objects that would change the course of his life forever.”

Each issue of Blue Book also features another “true” weird tale, sometimes having to do with alien abductions, sometimes not. The first issue of 1947 will feature a short by Zac Thompson and Gavin Fullerton. And each issue of the five-issue mini will follow suit.

Blue Book: 1947 will hit stores on February 7, 2024.

Fabian Nicieza Back On Cable.:

Fabian Nicieza is returning to Cable for a new series kicking off this upcoming January from Marvel. Having helped define the gun-toting mutant back in the ’90s, Nicieza is taking a decidedly new bent on the character in this new series. Or more specifically, two bents.

That’s because the upcoming miniseries will team up Cable with the younger version of himself recently featured in X-Men comics. And not only that, it will provide a crucial bridge between other events in the world of X-Men, as the Cables fight the burgeoning machine threat of The Neocracy.

“It’s always fun to write Cable and challenge him with a big physical and emotional conflict,” Nicieza said via press release. “Having written him more than anyone else on the planet, it’s also fun to add to that total!”

The new series will feature art by Scot Eaton, and run for four issues starting January 17, 2024.
