Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant #2 Review:
Ms. Marvel is dealing with a lot. The world knows she’s a member of the X-Men. Empire State University is taken over by the villainous Orchis. And she’s having weird dreams. After a strong first issue, does issue #2 hold up?
Host Justin Tyler thought that it does hold up, and in fact, called it a “driving force” of the current Fall of X storyline in Marvel’s X-Men comics. “It’s sort of the book where everything comes to hang out,” Tyler said, calling out the Orchis storyline, as well as Tony Stark and Emma Frost being “happily” married in this issue. He also was intrigued by the dream elements, which finds a fanfiction version of Doctor Strange and the Silver Surfer standing in for Ms. Marvel “trying to find a place in the Marvel Universe.”
As for Pete LePage, he was a big fan of the will they/won’t they with Kamala’s friend Bruno. Overall, he found the book “really enjoyable” with a “fun dynamic.”
