The Fantastic Four Adopt A Fantastic Dog:

Some breaking news out of Marvel Comics. In today’s issue of Fantastic Four, The Thing adopts a dog. Massive spoilers for Fantastic Four #11, which is out in stores today.

In the issue, written by Ryan North with art by Iban Coello, a cute little puppy starts bothering The Thing, but he doesn’t want anything to do with it. Then, the team is attacked by a classic villain named The Miracle Man, who sends them into a dream state in order to steal Reed Richards’ technology.

The Thing is ultimately able to beat the Miracle Man thanks to the puppy not getting hypnotized and decides he likes the dog, after all. And the big reveal at the end is this new team member is named Princess Masters-Grimm.

Will comics ever be the same???

Dan Slott’s Doctor Who Gets A New On-Sale Date:

Back in 2021, Doctor Who superfan Dan Slott announced that his dream was coming true: he was writing an original Who story for Titan Comics. And now, that comic is finally coming out.

Titled Doctor Who: Once Upon a Time Lord, the story focuses on the 10th Doctor, aka David Tennant, and Companion Martha Jones. Accompanied by art by Christopher Jones and Matthew Dow Smith, the story is actually three stories. Jones is captured by enemies the Pyromeths, and has to pull a Scheherazade, keeping them distracted with three untold tales of the Doctor.

The issue will also contain a bonus story featuring the Ninth Doctor, aka Christopher Eccelston, and his Companion Rose. The issue will hit stores on October 24.

Valiant Returns, Again:

Valiant Comics is back! Again. It was first reported back in June that Valiant, home of X-O Manowar, Eternal Warrior and more, was partnering with Alien Books to release new series and graphic novels based on Valiant characters. And now, some of those books may finally come out in stores.

As reported by ICv2, Alien will kick things off in November with the release of Ninjak Superkillers. This was originally meant to be released as four issues but now looks to be distributed as two, oversized issues. This will be followed by the as-yet unreleased fourth issue of X-O Manowar Unconquered in December.

Alien will start releasing new material in February with A Very Valiantines Day Special, a collection of presumably romantic stories. This will be followed in March by new Britannia and Livewire series, as well as the very Avengers-sounding The Valiants team-up book.

This marks the umpteenth reinvention of Valiant, which had a massive resurgence in 2012, before fizzling out thanks to management changes, and scuttled movie universe plans. Sorry, Vin Diesel.
