Choni fans, it’s all happening.
Not necessarily one of the biggest mysteries on Riverdale, but a mystery nonetheless: where is Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) resting her head? On the last episode, “Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens,” Cheryl was freed from her conversion therapy at the Sisters of the Quiet Mercy by Veronica (Camilla Mendes) and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan).
And then Toni and Cheryl shared a passionate kiss, right in front of the classroom. *wolf whistle* *tongue unrolls* *head blows up like teapot*
At the end of the episode, Cheryl and Toni were cuddling together in the Riverdale High common room, but it wasn’t clear what happened between. Given Cheryl’s mom had maybe tried to kill her, and definitely tried to get her committed, Thistle House didn’t seem like a safe place to stay. So where was Cheryl?
Enter the Pants Detectives:
Yep, the Choni fanbase is fierce, and noticed that the pants Toni wore one episode were the same Cheryl was sporting at the end of “Chapter Thirty.” But with a several weeks long break between the end of that episode, and tonight’s “Chapter Thirty-One: A Night To Remember,” the fanbase has been dying to know whether Toni and Cheryl are shacking up.
Guess what? They are. In a new interview with ET, Petsch herself confirmed the pairing.
“I already know what you are talking about,” Petsch said, noting that the fans were “on it.”
Side-note: guys, Riverdale fans are probably better detectives than Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse).
“Obviously she didn’t go home to Thistle House,” Petsch continued. “For the next 17, 18, Cheryl’s only wearing Toni’s clothing, because she’s staying at Toni’s. So it’s kind of like a little note to it, we don’t really talk about it, but it’s nice you figured it out. Good job!”
Petsch also notes that Morgan’s pants are insanely tight, but “very cute.”
Not only that: the Choni pairing will last at least through the end of the season, and Petsch says the finale has a little bit of “everything.”
Now, can you guys please stop tweeting scissors emojis at me? Thanks.
