‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Wins Our “Save Our Show” Poll!

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Season 5

In a recent episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) joked that the in-show agents had a “small but devoted fanbase.” It’s a wink to the audience which has stuck by the show through thick and thin for five seasons, and if the “Save One Show” poll we ran on Twitter is any indication, absolutely true.

Hundreds of fans voted in a bracket that started with 28 comic book based shows, including: Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow; Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist; Gotham, Lucifer, Krypton and iZombie; Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Punisher, Runaways and The Gifted; Legion, The Tick, Preacher and Riverdale; The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, Black Lightning, Wynonna Earp; and a special “bring back one show” bracket including Agent Carter, Constantine, The Middleman, and Inhumans*.

(*Technically Inhumans isn’t canceled, but come on.)

After that first round, we pitted the winners in a second round (holding Agent Carter in reserve):

Sorry, The Flash, you might be the fastest man alive, but you can’t beat a blind lawyer.

The maniacs in Gotham City were no match for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And Legion was just crazy enough to beat Black Lightning.

Then it was time for our final round, but even with the return of Agent Carter, no one was a match for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

So congrats, Coulson and company! S.H.I.E.L.D. may be an underground spy organization hunted by the United States government, but your spies (and fans) are everywhere! Here’s to Season 6…
