FX’s Legion might be about to hit “Chapter 11,” but this new promo proves the show is anything but creatively bankrupt.

Anyway, a look at next week’s episode shows a number of tantalizing details for what’s to come, most of which may be real or imagined (because that’s what the show does, don’t ya know). The biggest is probably something David (Dan Stevens) hasn’t quite considered yet… If he’s able to alter the apocalyptic future described to him in “Chapter 10” by Future-Syd (Rachel Keller), then that Syd ceases to exist. Yes, he does have his current Syd to consider as well, but can David effectively kill his true love?
The other big bit is that we definitely will be seeing more of the Mi-Go Monks, the folks who hid Amahl Farouk’s (Navid Negahban) body and were wiped out by The Miser Sunday, whoever, or whatever, they or it are.
And one last detail you’d shouldn’t ignore: Farouk’s body seems to have been preserved in an egg. As Future-Syd explained, after David killed Farouk (a week in David’s future in the show’s timeline) the “egg” opened and a virus was released that destroyed most life on Earth. On Inside Legion, our Legion podcast, we speculated that the “egg” could refer to Season 2’s motif depicting an egg which sometimes hatches into a delusion; or it could be a literal egg.
It might turn out to be more the latter, and that’s going to scramble David real good.

Here’s the official description of the show from FX:
Legion follows the story of “David Haller,” a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of “Amahl Farouk” from attaining infinite and world-ending power.
