Preacher Men: “Viktor”
Sympathy for the Hitler? We’re recapping the fourth episode of “Preacher” Season 2, and things are getting real weird.
Over the course of 66+ issues, Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Vertigo comic Preacher made sacrilegious history. Focusing on a disgraced priest named Jesse Custer who is given the voice of god, the series explores religion, faith, and more. It was later adapted into a TV show on AMC, which ran for three seasons before ending.
The Vertigo comic has been lauded as one of the greatest runs of all time. That’s in large part thanks to Ennis’s exaggerated, satirical storytelling. And the late Steve Dillon’s characters, which walk the line between disgusting and beautiful.
