Preacher Men: “Monster Swamp”
Jesse and Quincannon have a meeting of minds, as our recap podcast for AMC’s Preacher continues.
Over the course of 66+ issues, Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Vertigo comic Preacher made sacrilegious history. Focusing on a disgraced priest named Jesse Custer who is given the voice of god, the series explores religion, faith, and more. It was later adapted into a TV show on AMC, which ran for three seasons before ending.
The Vertigo comic has been lauded as one of the greatest runs of all time. That’s in large part thanks to Ennis’s exaggerated, satirical storytelling. And the late Steve Dillon’s characters, which walk the line between disgusting and beautiful.
On Comic Book Club’s page, you can listen to the complete run of our podcast recapping the AMC series. And listen to discussions of the comics, as well.
