Sensational She-Hulk #8 Review:
in the latest issue of the series, She-Hulk and Jack of Hearts are on a space vacation, trying to figure out their relationship, when Jack’s ex shows up.
Though host Alex Zalben kicked off by saying “There are a lot of romantic shenanigans going on here,” Pete LePage was over the moon.
“Oh my god, I’m so happy with the way they did this,” LePage said. “I saw the cover — great cover but I was very distraught by that because… there’s a coldness between them that I don’t like and I read into that way too much… Bit it was so touching… They talk things out and they both love each other and I couldn’t control myself… The will they, won’t they, lead up for this really pays off here. I was just geeking out… Hellcat has the best pickup line maybe ever. All I’ve ever wanted is someone to walk up to me and say do you like cake?”
Justin Tyler also loved the issue, saying, “The arts fantastic, but the way that Rainbow Rowell is able to tell this is romance comics distilled down… This is the epitome of rom-com and romance comics in the superhero genre being told here. It’s fun. You see love on the page… It’s just so sensational.”
