Just kidding. Though there is a new entry in Dav Pilkey’s hit series, there are plenty of other kids’ graphic novels to love out this month. From a story about ants told from the ants’ perspective to a boy with a magical unicorn horn and much more… Here are our picks for the 11 best graphic novels for kids this month.

The latest in Jamie Smart’s series pits the title characters against humans. Looks adorable!
4. Table Titans Club

The 30th book in the Big Nate series, the latest volume finds Nate’s status as the most disgusting person at school challenged, hence the war of the title.
6. Unicorn Boy

Dave Roman’s absolutely delightful new graphic novel follows a kid named Brian who discovers he’s growing a unicorn horn. That’s just the start of the adventure which takes weird and wild turns throughout as Brian explores his horn’s new powers, and meets all sorts of fantastic creatures.

After Pia’s younger brother dies and her family moves cross-country, she heads off on a bus tour with a friend to try and heal. This debut graphic novel from Debbie Fong sounds heartbreaking, and hopefully hopeful as well.

The second in Wes Molebash’s series, Travis is trying to become the hero the multiverse needs — but first, he has to survive gym class.
9. Dog Man: The Scarlet Shedder

At this point, what more do you need to know about the blockbuster Dog Man series? The twelfth volume of Dav Pilkey’s monster hit finds Dog Man literally turning red after getting doused in tomato juice, while cat Petey gets pulled back into a life of crime.
