Predator: The Last Hunt #1 Review:

The third in Ed Brisson’s miniseries about the Predator, we’re picking up with Theta years after her last hunt with the creatures. And in a cliffhanger, we end up introducing John Schaefer, Dutch’s brother from several comic miniseries.

“I like how tight the continuity is here,” said host Justin Tyler. “I don’t expect it, especially with the number one. But we’re getting a real, full story here, even though each series sort of restarts. And I like that. The theme here is that these characters, our main character anyway, has become a predator essentially, looking for Predators. And I like that flip that is not explicitly told to us. It’s just shown to us in a smart way. And just great, stabbing and stuff.”

Continued Alex Zalben, “I think this is great. I really like the stuff that Ed Brisson is doing with Predator.” On the reveal of John Schaefer, Zalben called it, “wild to just throw that in there. And particularly because he’s a guy who’s like, ‘I’m just wearing a Hawaiian shirt. I’m just a regular big old beefy guy. Let’s go.’ … I’m excited to see where this goes. I was not expecting that.”
