Read our review of Thanos #2 from Marvel Comics, written by Christopher Cantwell with art by Luca Pizzari, as Thanos drives a tiny car.
We reviewed the book on the Stack podcast. But in the interest of highlighting more about the title, here’s a summary of the conversation with our thoughts. And if you prefer the longer audio version, that’s below as well!

Thanos #2 Review:
Thanos has kidnapped the town of Fresno to try and find one woman… A woman who doesn’t know anything about him. Meanwhile, the Illuminati are trying to save the town and stop Thanos, so they bring in The Hulk. That should calm things down.
“This is a strange [book],” offered host Justin Tyler. “I want to ride with Thanos in this comic, and we are not. This is a fight issue with the Illuminati, but we don’t really get to see what’s up with Thanos… I hope in the next issue we can maybe flip and get his understanding of [the situation].”
Spoilers here, but the reveal is that the woman Thanos is pursuing is either Death in disguise, or Thanos thinks she’s Death. Either way, said Tyler, “We are ahead of [that reveal] and I just want to know the emotionality behind it.”
Pete LePage didn’t love the idea of Mr. Steal-ya-girl Thanos, calling it “a little weird,” and was hoping to “move past that.”
Meanwhile, Alex Zalben felt that, “The series is very goofy, which I was not expecting. There are a lot of jokes about his chair, and he’s riding in a tiny car at one point, which is hilarious… I don’t know what I was expecting for this series. But this is not it. I don’t mind it. It’s just a very different tone than I would think would come from a series with the story that they’re telling here, but there you go.”
