You know who is not really in this preview of Marvel‘s Thanos #1? Thanos. The Mad Titan shows up at the very end of the six-page preview, riding on his adorable little space chair. But otherwise, it’s a whole lot of destruction and an unconscious lady.
That’s because the new book by Christopher Cantwell, with art by Luca Pizzari, takes a very different bent on the classic villain. No spoilers here, but the tease is that this title will pit Thanos against a new version of The Illuminati, who hid some sort of secret from him. What kind of secret do you hide from the guy who wiped out half the universe once upon a time? Nothing good, most likely.
