Amazons Attack #1 spins out of this week’s issue of Wonder Woman, and teams up some Amazonian all-stars. Written by Josie Campbell with art by Vasco Georgiev, should this book be part of your attack? I mean, stack?

Amazons Attack #1 (2023) Review:
In this spin-off comic teased at the end of Wonder Woman #2, Queen Nubia, Yara Flores, Faruka II, and Mary Marvel are caught in the crossfire of America vs. Amazons. So while the title puts them on the offensive, this is a team that is very much playing defense.
Host Alex Zalben was very pleasantly surprised by the book. He said, “I didn’t know what to think about this going in, but I came out by the end absolutely loving this team-up. These are characters that I’m okay with generally, but I love the idea that they are on their back legs fighting against the US government.”
Zalben also loved seeing Mary Marvel as part of the team… Particularly with Josie Campbell’s great work on The New Champion of Shazam series. “I was just very happy to see her,” Zalben said. “It’s a great team. I’m very excited.”
Pete LePage agreed. “I really love this team-up,” LePage said. He noted that it does a “great job” as a first issue, getting you excited for the whole new concept.”
And Justin Tyler was also on the same page, enjoying the new status quo for these characters, with them “losing out to whatever forces [are] moving against them… I liked this as well.”
