Unstoppable Doom Patrol #6 Review:

While the previous five issues of Unstoppable Doom Patrol focused on a different character, and the team’s new status quo, the latest issue breaks out into a wild superhero brawl. Host Alex Zalben said, “It goes buck wild for pretty much the first page,” throwing every hero and villain into the issue at breakneck speed.

Pete Lepage said, “This is a blast,” adding that, “It feels like a great episode of the TV show,” and, “I hear the voices from the actors when I read it, which is really fun.” In fact, this issue is extra fun for fans of the TV series on Max as characters like Kipling, Dorothy, and even a version of Dorothy’s Candleman show up at various points.

LePage also loved Burnham’s art, and fellow host Justin Tyler agreed. However, he was surprised that this was issue six of a seven-issue series, “because it does feel like it’s just revving up… It feels like it wants to go hard in this direction, somewhere new.”

Tyler added, “It takes the weirdness of the Doom Patrol and amps it up with an Avengers-type, pace, and storytelling… I just want to see more of this, even though it’s not at all what I expected when this first came out.”
