Incredibles 2, the long awaited sequel to Pixar’s classic, didn’t play like just any animated movie. It played like a superhero blockbuster, beating the opening weekends of other comic book fare like Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man 3, and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. So given fans were expecting the full superhero movie experience, they probably watched credits roll thinking: is there a post credits scene in Incredibles 2?
I’m gonna save you some time: no. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stick through the credits… There are some great art deco designs recapping moments in the movie. And you should always pay tribute to the amazing folks who made the movie.
But in case you clicked this post looking for secret Incredibles Easter Eggs, we’ve still got a good one for you. You may have seen The Incredibles and Incredibles 2. You may have even seen Jack-Jack Attack, a short released with the DVD that shows what’s been going on with the youngest Parr while the first movie is going on. That’s seen a good second life on digital, and is a lot of fun.
But have you ever seen Mr. Incredible and Pals?
Another DVD extra, this one has gotten lost to the annals of time, but is well worth it if you’re an Incredibles completist. The short is done in the style of old ’60s cartoons (instead of CGI), and doesn’t include any of the original’s voices. That’s by design: the idea is that Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Frozone* (Samuel L. Jackson) licensed their images for a cartoon at the height of the popularity. Also, the cartoon stinks.
But that’s not all! What makes this worth it is that Nelson and Jackson, in character as Mr. Incredible and Frozone, recorded a DVD commentary for the short. And they’re as flabbergasted as you are.
So short version, there is no post credits scene in Incredibles 2. But if you don’t want to wait another 14 years for more vintage superhero adventures? There’s plenty more to check out.
(*By the way, if you’re wondering if Frozone dies in Incredibles 2, we’ve got the answer to that.)
