John Ridley
John Ridley is an American screenwriter, director, novelist, and comic book creator. He’s best known to the world at large as the writer of the Academy Award-winning 12 Years a Slave, and Emmy-nominated American Crime.
For comic book fans, he’s published numerous books reexamining the DC Universe. Recently, the lauded GCPD: The Blue Wall and The Other History of the DC Universe were both written by Ridley. His current work is IDW’s The Ministry of Compliance. Other books include The Authority: Human on the Inside, Future State: The Next Batman, and more.
Coming up, Ridley directed Shirley starring Regina King, which is scheduled to debut on Netflix in 2024.
