Deadpool might be Marvel Jesus in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, but Dogpool, the hideously adorable dog variant of the character, is Marvel Grogu. And she steals the spotlight in a new, one-minute teaser released for the movie to celebrate tickets going on sale now.
In the teaser footage, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) are teaming up to save the multiverse for unknown reasons, coming up against Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) and her evil army of X-Men movie rejects. There’s not a lot of new footage initially in the 60-second look, mostly recycling bits from the second trailer for the movie. And then Dogpool arrives.
It’s just a brief shot, but with her tongue dragging out of his mouth, dressed in a little Deadpool costume: folks, I’m in love.
Dogpool is played by a dog named Peggy, a pug-Chinese crested dog once voted Britain’s Ugliest Dog. Now, she’s about to become one of the biggest stars in the world, thanks to this movie.
