Absolute Batman Tops 2025 Graphic Novel Sales List:
Yesterday, we brought you the breakdown of the best-selling single issues of 2025. Today? Graphic novels. And you probably won’t be surprised to hear the first volume of Absolute Batman is right at the top of that list.
Per ICv2, similar to the single issues list, DC Comics was the big winner overall of 2025 when it comes to graphic novels and collections with 12 of the Top 20 slots. This is less of a surprise because DC’s collections game is always strong, but still impressive that between three Compact Comics titles and the first collection of Absolute Wonder Woman, the publisher took the entire Top 5.
Coming in at number six was Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 1, with Marvel’s only other entry at number 13 being Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 2. Image Comics took four slots, two for collections of Invincible, and volumes two and three of Transformers. And IDW took two slots on the list, for Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, and perennial favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin.
Supergirl: The World Celebrates The Maid Of Might:
Hey, did you hear there’s a Supergirl movie coming out? Well, there is, and in advance of the movie hitting theaters, DC Comics will release their latest international collection: Supergirl: The World.
Here’s the official synopsis for the book, to give you a little taste of what to expect:
Supergirl, the last daughter of Krypton, has found her adoptive world daunting at times, struggling to find her place in it. So what better way to learn about her new home than to travel the globe and discover its many wonders—and save some lives in the process, of course! Behold the Maiden of Might as 15 countries tell tales that highlight what makes Supergirl one of the most inspiring and powerful DC Super Heroes of all.
Following up on similar collections for Batman, The Joker, and Superman, this latest hardcover anthology will bring together writers and artists from 15 different countries, including Mariko Tamaki, Skylar Patridge, Mahmud Asrar, and many, many more. Supergirl: The World will run 184 pages, be priced at $24, and will be released everywhere on June 2, 2026.
Mad Cave Studios Snags Star Wars License For All-Ages Graphic Novels:
Mad Cave Studios through its all-ages Papercutz imprint is teaming up with Lucasfilm for a series of all-ages graphic novels.
First up is Star Wars: Smugglers and Scoundrels: The Race For Jabba’s Bounty by Cavan Scott and Christian Colbert, and will feature not only Han Solo and Chewbacca, but everyone’s favorite weird green rabbit, Jaxxon. That will hit stores on September 15, 2026.
Then there’s Star Wars: Tales from the Outer Rim: The Legend of Beggar’s Canyon by Greg Pak and Brent Schoonover, which focuses on a young Luke Skywalker and his friend Biggs exploring the titular canyon. That hits on October 13, 2026.
The open question is what this all means for Dark Horse’s line of all-ages Star Wars books. The publisher lost the license to publish general Star Wars comics to Marvel back in 2014, but continued to publish all-ages titles. So has Dark Horse lost that license, as well? We reached out for comment, but did not receive a response as of recording time.
