Feral to cross over with Stray Dogs?
Marvel reveals Comics Giveaway Day titles.
…and so do other publishers.
This is Comic Book Club News for December 18, 2025.
Feral To Cross Over With Stray Dogs?
Feral, the “Walking Dead, but with cats” title from Image Comics by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner, is delivering a “silent interlude issue” with Feral #21 next year. But perhaps even more surprising? It seems like the issue will also feature a crossover with Fleecs and Forstner’s other hit series, Stray Dogs.
Image teases that the issue, which pays tribute to the classic G.I. Joe silent interlude, will find Ghost, a hearing-impaired cat, trying to track down Moosh the Rottweiler, who has vanished. In the process, Ghost will discover a huge secret about the world of the book — and there’s “a last page shocker that will make Stray Dogs fans howl with delight.”
Feral #21 will hit comic book stores on March 25, 2026.
Marvel Reveals Comics Giveaway Day Titles:
Begun, the free comics wars have. After Diamond Comics Distributors went bankrupt, the brand Free Comic Book Day moved over to Universal Distribution. And while that particular company has managed to rope in Lunar Distribution for the May 2, 2026 event, and will even expand into trading card stores… Well, they were not able to convince Penguin Random House to join in on the fun. So instead, PRH will be launching their own competing event: Comics Giveaway Day, which includes four recently announced titles from Marvel Comics.
Held the exact same day as Free Comic Book Day – so awesome for comic book fans, less awesome for the comic book stores who have to deal with ordering comics in this mess – the four books are: Amazing Spider-Man #1000/Queen in Black #1, Armageddon/X-Men #1, Alien, Predator & Planet of the Apes #1, and Spidey & His Amazing Friends #1.
You can probably intuit what they’re all about from the titles, but the first one features new stories leading up to the 1000th issue of ASM, plus a look at the upcoming Queen in Black crossover that finds a goopy Hela attacking the Marvel Universe — and as a bonus, a tease of what’s to come in Infernal Hulk. Meanwhile, Armageddon is the big summer event from writer Chip Zdarsky, and there’s an “X-Men milestone” down the road as well in that double-issue, along with something about Fantastic Four not on the cover.
The other two are reprints, with stories from the 20th Century Studios line, and all-ages tales including one of Jeff the Land Shark and Symbie meeting.
You can check them out in participating stores in May.
Other Publishers Reveal Comics Giveaway Day Titles:
…but wait, there’s more! Alongside Marvel, BOOM!, Dark Horse, IDW, and more will also participate in Comics Giveaway Day.
From BOOM!, alongside something titled Something is Killing the Children: Road to Slaughter, there will be books for Garfield, Power Rangers, and a preview of the upcoming Jem and the Holograms and My Little Pony books.
Dark Horse will release two flip-books: one with Dungeons & Dragons and Masters of the Universe; the other with Avatar the Last Airbender and Minecraft.
IDW will be releasing a reprint of Locke & Key #1 with what looks like a new cover from Gabriel Rodriguez, as well as a Sonic the Hedgehog book.
There are plenty more, though how retailers will display both these books and the Free Comic Book Day books? That’s TBD.
