This is Comic Book Club News for December 12, 2025.
Marvel To Publish Silent Möbius Crossover From Kia Asamiya:
Marvel will publish a surprising crossover series next year: Silent Möbius x Avengers, which will be written and drawn by the creator of the manga Silent Möbius, Kia Asamiya.
Per ICv2, the news was announced at Tokyo Comic Con by Marvel’s EIC C.B. Cebulski, who will also edit the series. And while this was only teased in Japan, and on the Marvel Japan accounts, reportedly the series will only be published in the U.S., with no plans for a Japanese release.
You probably know who the Avengers are, but if you’re not familiar with Silent Möbius, it follows a team of all-female police officers who protect Tokyo from Lucifer Hawks, beings from another dimension. The series was previously published by both Viz and Udon, and was adapted into two anime films, and a TV series.
Asamiya has previously published work at Marvel — as well as DC — though the creator may be better known in the US for his collaborations with Akira Yoshida, the pen name and fictional creation of Cebulski, who Asamiya apocryphally introduced to American comic book editors. Asamiya is also a pen name, by the way, but hey, I guess it’s good to see them still working together. Whatever there names are.
Ultimate Spider-Man #24 Delayed Again:
Ultimate Spider-Man #24, the final issue of Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s run on the title, was supposed to hit stores on December 31, 2025, the same day as Ultimate Endgame #1. It got delayed a month until the end of January… And now it’s gotten delayed a month after that.
That’s pretty much the whole news item, per Bleeding Cool: Ultimate Spider-Man #24 will now hit stores on February 28, 2026. But as when we reported on the first delay, what’s most surprising about this is that not only had the title been coming out regularly, every month until the final two issues; but given we were supposed to see the conclusion of Ultimate Spider-Man the same day as Ultimate Endgame, which wraps up the story of the universe, the initial implication was that one would lead into the other.
Instead, Ultimate Spider-Man‘s finale will now be released between the second and third issues of the event series — which potentially may spoil how Spider-Man wraps up. Regardless, fingers crossed it doesn’t get delayed again, though TBD. Also there was a Christmas variant cover for the issue, and now that’s coming out nearly in March which is weird.
Battle Beast Returns For Invincible Month:
The Viltrumites are back. Or rather, they were back, as Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7, which takes place in a little pocket of continuity in Skybound’s Invincible, is bringing the alien conquerors face to face with the title character.
Said writer Robert Kirkman via press release, “Between season 4 of the show and the events of this Battle Beast series, 2026 is all about the Viltrumites! It’s so cool that readers are finally getting an inkling of what this series is actually about. Arc one was really just the taste of the chaos to come as we dive headfirst into how exactly Battle Beast ended up in that Viltrumite prison!”
Issue #7 hits during what the publisher is calling “Invincible Month,” aka March, 2026. Alongside the new issue is the debut of Season 4 of the Prime Video series. In addition, artist Ryan Ottley teases that Battle Beast will take on Conquest, and in the real world there’s a variant cover from Todd McFarlane.
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 hits stores on March 18, 2026.
