‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ Super Bowl Trailer: Actually It’s A Parody Of The Budweiser Clydesdales Commercials??

More like “The Big Grogu,” as a new ad for the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters since 2019 has arrived with The Mandalorian & Grogu Super Bowl trailer. And it looks like everyone’s favorite bounty hunter and Baby Yoda are going big or going home with the new movie.

…Or are they, because it wasn’t a movie trailer as expected, it was actually a parody of the Budwesier Clydesdales commercials, with Mando and Grogu riding in a chariot drawn by Tauntauns? Narrated by Sam Elliott? That’s crazy, man.

While we don’t know much about the actual plot of the movie, it spins off the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, following on the events of the third season of the series. There, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) took on little Jedi Grogu as his apprentice. And now the two are traveling the galaxy, taking jobs and leaving a path of destruction in their wake, as they get in over their heads.

Alongside the titular duo, Sigourney Weaver joins as Ward, a leader of the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers (chronology note: this takes place after Return of the Jedi but before The Force Awakens). Jeremy Allen White also stars as Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt. And Jonny Coyne is an unnamed Imperial Warlord, part of the remnant of the former Empire, which has been plaguing Mando and Grogu since the beginning of the series — and will eventually lead to the formation of the villainous First Order.

In addition, Zeb Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels appears in “live-action” in the movie, alongside Dave Filoni as X-Wing pilot Trapper Wolf, and a few Babu Friks, aka Anzellans, who love Grogu so that’s pretty cool.

Here’s the official synopsis of the movie via Disney, followed by the Mandalorian & Grogu Super Bowl ad. Which is ridiculous. The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters on May 22, 2026.

The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu. Directed by Jon Favreau, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” also stars Sigourney Weaver and is produced by Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce,  with music composed by Ludwig Göransson.
