11 Most Anticipated Marvel Comics For January 2026

It’s the first month of a new year, and it’s a curious one for the House of Ideas. While Ultimate Endgame kicked off the end of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe on New Year’s Eve, things are still (mostly) trucking along this month. And same with the X-Men line, which is dealing with the fallout to the mixed reception to the Age of Revelation event. Oh, and One World Under Doom is still paying dividends too, with the lead-up to this summer’s Armageddon event.

But hey, there are still plenty of comics to look forward to! Yeah! So with that in mind, let’s get into our 11 most anticipated Marvel Comics for January, 2026, presented in chronological release order.

1. Marvel / DC: Spider-Boy Team-Up Facsimile Edition #1

Marvel / DC: Spider-Boy Team-Up Facsimile Edition #1

Release Date: January 7, 2026

Normally I don’t include facsimile editions on this list… Nothing against them, but with 11 choices I prefer to concentrate on new stuff. But, to paraphrase the great Marge Simpson, I just think this is neat. Leading up to the Superman/Spider-Man crossovers later this year, we’ve got a reprint of the Amalgam Age Spider-Boy meeting the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099. That’s pretty weird and wild, and definitely feeds my pet theory that we’re going to get a new Amalgam event to celebrate the 30th anniversary, also later this year.

2. Avengers #34

Avengers #34 wraparound cover

Release Date: January 14, 2026

One of those “it’s the 34th issue but also the 800th issue” deals, while this is one of the few remaining issues in Jed MacKay’s run — he’ll be wrapping things up with issue #36 — the headline here is Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley reuniting for a new story in this issue.

3. Dungeons of Doom #1

dungeons of doom #1 cover

Release Date: January 14, 2026

Here’s some of that One World Under Doom runoff we were talking about, but this seems like a fun one (you know: fun runoff). Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy, two dudes with messed up brains (complimentary) team up to tell a tale of various factions trying to break into Doom’s vaults, releasing the horrors inside. When we talked to PKJ about this, he noted that it’s a three issue series, but a virtually unlimited concept, so let’s see if we can get this one to go ongoing. Only downside? The big door with Doom’s face on the cover doesn’t seem to actually be part of it. Sad!

4. Knull #1

Knull #1 cover

Release Date: January 14, 2026

Dr. Smiley (not his real name) is back in a new miniseries that finds him on a quest to escape Hela and regain the power he’s lost. Al Ewing and Tom Waltz team up on writing, while Juanan Ramírez handles art for the book, which leads into yet another event titled Queen in Black this summer. Ewing has been doing great work on Venom, so while I’ll cop to not being the biggest Knull fan, consider me intrigued anyway.

5. Sai: Dimensional Rivals #1

Release Date: January 14, 2026

Peach Momoko’s sort of AU riff on Psylocke heads through the multiverse, alongside creators Stan Sakai and Iban Coello. While Marvel has taken some knocks critically over the past year, the fact that they just keep letting Momoko do her weird, singular thing is a reason for celebration.

6. Captain America #6

Captain America #6 cover

Release Date: January 21, 2026

The Road to Armageddon begins! Or continues! One of the two! Anyway, scribe Chip Zdarsky starts to lay down some of the bricks in the road here as S.H.I.E.L.D. returns and joins with Cap for even more figuring out what to do with Latveria, now that Doom is dead as a doornail.

7. Ultimate Black Panther #24

Ultimate Black Panther #24 cover

Release Date: January 21, 2026

There’s plenty coming out from the Ultimate Universe this month, but we’ll just highlight one title, the final issue of Ultimate Black Panther. Though it didn’t grab as much ink as Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimates, it’s still nice to see a story get a beginning, middle, and end; and it all ends here.

8. Rogue #1

Rogue #1 cover

Release Date: January 21, 2026

Writer Erica Schultz has excelled with previous heroes like Daredevil (Elektra style), X-23, and others, so I’m very much looking forward to seeing what she does with Rogue. Along for the ride is artist Luigi Zagaria, and the series promises to delve into her past with Destiny and Mystique.

9. Psylocke: Ninja #1

PSYLOCKE: NINJA #1 (OF 5)

Release Date: January 21, 2026

A legacy series set early on in Psylocke’s career (?) as a ninja, it’ll find her crossing blades with Elektra, among other characters. This one comes from writer Tim Seeley and artist Nico Leon.

10. Inglorious X-Force #1

Inglorious X-Force #1 cover

Release Date: January 21, 2026

Also by Seeley, this time with artist Michael Sta. Maria, Marvel makes another stab (get it?) with a team of X-Men sharps, this time led by Cable alongside Hellverine, Archangel, and Boom Boom.

11. Iron Man #1

Iron Man #1 cover

Release Date: January 28, 2026

Joshua Williamson makes his Marvel with a brand new Iron Man #1. The concept is decidedly simple, as Madame Masque decides the thing that A.I.M. needs isn’t their own Iron Man… It’s their own Tony Stark.
