This is Comic Book Club News for February 16, 2026.

Transformers: The Movie Gets Collected:

Last week, Hasbro announced they’ll be embarking on an “apology tour” for that whole “killing Optimus Prime” thing that happened in 1986’s The Transformers: The Movie. And Skybound and Image Comics are getting in on the action with The Transformers: The Movie Deluxe Edition, a new hardcover collection of the two comic book adaptations of the epic film.

The new edition features a new cover by Sean Gordon Murphy, and includes both The Transformers: The Movie #1 through #3 from Marvel Comics, and The Transformers: The Animated Movie #1 through #4 from IDW. That means it includes work from Ralph Macchio and Bob Budiansky, artists Don Perlin, Ian Akin, Brian Garvey, and Don Figueroa.

The Transformers: The Movie Deluxe Edition will hit comic book stores on August 12, 2026, mere days after the 40th anniversary of the movie, and book stores on September 8, 2026.

IDW Launches Crime Imprint:

If you’ve ever wondered “how does IDW keep getting away with it??” prepare to get an answer as the publisher has just announced a brand new imprint titled IDW Crime. It joins the publisher’s horror imprint, IDW Dark, with titles stealing into stores later this year.

Kicking off in May, the first title is Seven Wives from writer Zoe Tunnell and artists V Gagnon and Tesslyn Bergin-Dicoi. Seven Wives is a “dark mystery” set around a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints compound where any one of seven wives may have murdered their husband.

Then in July, Joey Esposto and Valeria Burzo tackle the true crime serial killer story Killer Influences. It’s about an incredibly efficient serial killer who wants to be famous, but he’s so good at killing nobody has connected his crimes. So he hooks up with a true crime influencer who also craves stardom.

And last but not least is Fixation by Amy Chase and Savanna Mayer. This focuses on fans of a hit vampire franchise who head to the town the franchise is set for a cast reunion, only to find a killer is on the loose at the same time.

Each series is three issues long, with a 40+ page first issue will cost $4.99.

Mary Jane Venom And Knull Get New Costumes:

The Queen in Black crossover kicks off this summer from Marvel. But before that gets started? SHOPPING MONTAGE!! Or more specifically, Mary Jane Watson, aka Venom, and Knull, are getting new costumes.

In the crossover, Hela conquers the Marvel universe, spinning out of the events of Venom and the Knull miniseries. But first, Mary Jane gets a more form-fitting symbiote look that show off her gorgeous red hair, and Knull gets a white costume.

Explained writer Al Ewing, “MJ’s new look represents a ‘levelling up’ of sorts. After her most serious challenge as Venom so far, it represents a reassessment of her relationship with the symbiote – just in time for an even bigger threat looming on the horizon.”

As for Knull? In Knull #5, he conquers the Lightforce Dimension, hence the new white and light blue costume, matching his pasty, pale skin.

Knull #5 hits stores on May 13, while Venom #259 hits stores on June 17.
