Ultimate Universe Maybe Not Ending After All, Per Marvel’s ‘Reborn: Ultimate Impact’ Teaser

In a huge, shocking twist, Marvel Comics may not be done with the Ultimate Universe after all. While the House of Ideas has been making a lot of hay out of the end of Ultimate Endgame and the Ultimate Universe Finale special hitting in April, in May, get ready for… Reborn: Ultimate Impact.

Per a new teaser sent over by Marvel, the publisher explains, “As the Ultimate Universe ends, May’s REBORN: ULTIMATE IMPACT reveals how the Ultimate Universe’s legacy will reverberate across the Marvel Universe. Stay tuned later this week for the full announcement.“

And the teaser image itself says, “The end of the Ultimate Universe is here. Its legacy will live on,” with the title — initiative? — coming in May.

To be clear, Marvel is not saying the Ultimate Universe will continue, necessarily. This week’s final issue of Miles Morales: Spider-Man teases an Ultimate Universe connection, Miles brought “Origin Boxes” back with him to the regular universe after the end of the Incursion miniseries, and the upcoming Armageddon event ties in somehow. So perhaps it’s just the repercussions? We’ll know more later this week.
